than just a Music Fest...
The
Bean Blossom Blues, Brews and BBQ, affectionately known as the Bean,
has a long history as a successful and loved music festival, but in
addition to music, Bean founder John
Hall has another love - BBQ! As a KCBS
member himself, it was only fitting that he turn the Bean into a
Indiana State Championship BBQ competition...and here we are.
$8,000.00
in Prize Money...
The
Bean just has 4 Meat Categories - Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, Beef
Brisket. Cash Awards
will be paid to the top 7 finishers in each category and to the Grand
Champion and Reserve Grand Champion with the total purse being
$8,000.00. We welcome competitors from all states. The first 36 teams to
enter will be the ones we accept.
This is an official Indiana State Championship BBQ so our Grand
Champion will be invited to compete in the American Royal Barbecue
and they'll be put into the drawing to be invited to the Jack
Daniel's 's World Championship Invitational Barbecue. The Grand
Champion, the Reserve Grand Champion, and the winner in each category
will also win Free Vending Rights of Refusal at next year's fest!
Can
Competitors vend?
We're
only allowing 5 teams to vend. If you want to be considered for one
of the 5 vendor spots, first you need to pay your team entry fee,
then email
us requesting to be a vendor.
What
your Entry Fee buys you...
Paying
for your entry into the competition
gets you all the cooking/camping space you need, a 50 amp electric
hook-up, and access to nearby water. Competitors can bring RV's and
Campers. There is no rule against camping/sleeping in your cooking
space. Paying your Team Entry Fee also gets you 3 tickets to the
Fest. Extra fest tickets are available for purchase here.
We'll supply you with 3 bags of ice free, after that, ice will cost
$2.00/bag delivered to your cooking space.
Early
Bird gets the Worm...
All
entry forms received before June 1 will cost only $225.00. After June
1, the entry fee will go up to $250.00, and after August 1, it will
go to $275.00. If you don't have a credit card, you can just click
the buy
button, then print the form, fill it
out, and mail it, along with your entry fee, to Bean Blossom Blues,
PO Box 134, Nashville, IN 47448. This competition is limited to the
first 36 teams who submit their entries.
